Game: Hide The Pumpkin

Age: Preschool and Elementary School age

Supplies: One or more pumpkin(s)

What to do: Hide a pumpkin somewhere outside. For younger kids, make it somewhat obvious. Whoever finds the pumpkin then hides it next.

Variations:

  • Have a pumpkin for each child. Each child finds a pumpkin and then hides it for another child to find.

  • Give hints of “hot” or “cold” if a child is having a difficult time finding the pumpkin.

Have the child hide a large pumpkin. This can help them work on strength, and give a chance for heavy work.

This activity goes great with the “Pumpkin Curves” lesson in “Tree Rings And Other Things: A Hands-On Curriculum to Teach Pre-Writing Shapes” .
